Visual Identity Project

For my visual identity project, I created and styled a personal company prototype. To begin, I did a bit of research and asked myself the following questions to spark some new ideas:
  • Q: What do you do? A: I program and design.
  • Q: What is the spirit/personality of you? A: I am a very straight forward and logical worker – I look for the most efficient and effective ways to get from A to B.
  • Q: What is your target market, client base? A: I would prefer to work in a bigger corporation with a wide range of target market variety.
After answering these questions and spending multiple weeks brainstorming and designing my company brand, I concluded with the following structure: My company name is Logicode, which was inspired by the mixture of "logic" and "code" into one word, where both of these words describe me and were used in my answers for the research phase.

Music Videos - Writeup

From the videos I saw at www.musicradar.com, a lot of them weren't exactly my style, and most of them were sorta strange.  In my opinion, I really though The Notwist - Pick Up the Phone was quite creative, and interesting. The stop motion effects were quite unique, and eye-catching. Through the ages, the lighting improved (more vibrant), and the videos were more oriented around the artist.

The Arcade Fire music video is something very personal, for everyone. It makes the video oriented around you, which is something that's not possible in other music videos.

Movie Mashup

For my movie mashup project, I decided to pick the movie "Madagascar", which was made back in 2005. This was one of my favorite movies in my childhood, and I decided to remix it into something completely different. In addition, I do not watch too many movies. If I do, they are mostly horror or adventure related. As I wanted to make my movie trailer in a horror theme, I didn't have a lot of freedom as to what I could choose, so I decided that Madagascar would be the best options. If you haven't realized by now, the new movie-trailer theme was horror. With added scratching music, black and white clips, distorted frames and static overlay, the horror effect was achieved. In Madagascar, there were a lot of semi-scary scenes, which helped me recreate them into more "scarier" scenes.

It's been a great semester here at CyberArts this year! Looking forward to posting again in September.

Self Portrait Final

This is the final self portrait I painted. It took over two weeks to make, with lost of planning and organizing. I'm very satisfied with how this turned out, and the art style of photo realism is clearly seen in the detail.
