This is my result after attempting to make a pixel portrait of myself. I would list the steps in making this, but the procedure was far more complex then I though it would be, therefore it took many many steps to make.
However, in the process I learned a lot of new techniques and guidelines in making good pixel portraits / characters. One of those is the reflection technique. Another is the simplicity of shapes and colors.
A great strategy in tracing your face to make a pixel portrait like this one, is to enhance the contrast of the sample image so you can clearly see all edges and lines, and don't forget to make all borders a dark color!
